Deep-sea Ambusher

Enemy Specs

Model: Type Iγ-II002
Production Type: Mass-production
Primary Use: Craftmanship

Era of Manufacture: A machine produced during the middle Golden Age as an increasing number of industries began investing in robotic fieldwork.

Intelligence Level: Possesses multiple functions at low-level intelligence. It scrounges parts from sources around it in order to transform itself in a continuous pursuit of additional power.

Profile 1: Equipped with a composite scanner with both infrared and sonar capabilities that it used to scan its surroundings while submerged.

Profile 2: Equipped with a multifunctional high-pressure water cannon system. This was its main tool in cutting through bedrock mining operations. It can fire in continuous streams for incision as well as in instantaneous bursts for rapid self-mobility.

Profile 3: Its camouflage paint is pressure-resistant, granting it resistance to the crushing oceanic pressures while remaining undisturbed by local marine wildlife.

Story 1: Deep-sea robot primarily responsible for processing of oceanic bedrock and natural resource extraction. Powered by a Helium-4 fusion reactor stored within its main body.

Enemy Traits
Primary: Ranged

Gameplay Information

Moveset

  • Double Shot: Fires two simultaneous rounds. This attack will display a projectile path prior to firing.
  • Arc Volley: Fires a volley of twin rounds in a semicircular pattern; this will not display a projectile path.
  • Hydro-Cutter: Fires a continuous stream of water. This attack will not display a projectile path, and its animation is dynamic; the enemy will rotate while firing to attempt to follow the player character (though its rotational speed is notably slow). The attack has multiple low-damaging hits, none of which will stun or knock down the player.
  • Leap: Leaps high in the last direction it was facing, knocking down nearby player characters.

Notes and Advice

Players in the path of this enemy's Arc Volley attack are advised to evade to the enemy's left, as the attack will always proceed in a counter-clockwise fashion.

The Deep Sea Ambusher will frequently attempt to use its Leap action to gain distance when the player is in close physical proximity. Note that this attack's damage infliction occurs on the initial takeoff and not the landing.

Trivia

This enemy was originally known as "Depth Prowler" prior to its official name change upon implementation of the Eternal Engine patch.
