03 Final Exhibition
Main Story
Kamui is on a mission to track an Ascendant and unknowingly runs into Roland on his way to a museum estate. He mistakes him for another Construct on a mission. The Gray Ravens are also on an Ascendant’s trail and make it to the museum estate. They’ve been receiving distress signals from recon squads despite there being a low viral density in the area. Gray Raven rendezvous with Kamui and the latter recognizes Lucia while she doesn’t seem to remember who he is. Kamui briefly tells them about the Ascendants and how they draw their power from something called the Ascension Network. The team fights through the estate’s defenses and defeats the corrupted Butler of the Estate. Roland shows up and claims Kamui was his target all along. He destroys part of the building, isolating Kamui from Gray Raven. Meanwhile, Chrome notices Kamui’s rising corruption level over his comms.
Hidden Story
Roland crashes into the estate on a train. He discovers the security on the estate is not infected by the Punishing Virus but is the product of the Sagemachina. Roland looks for the control center to turn off the defenses and the owner of the estate. He is greeted by a voice telling him that he is not welcome. Gabriel connects with Roland to tell him that Luna is following the Gray Ravens closely and to be ready for her arrival. There is a Construct squad in the estate that has also been tracking the Ascendants. Roland reveals himself and they try to take him down in a futile effort. Roland keeps them barely alive while removing their Inver-Devices and planting bombs in their bodies as a trap for whoever finds them. When Roland finds the butler, the latter is disgusted at the havoc Roland has wreaked on the estate. In an attempt to “save” the Gray Ravens from Roland’s atrocities, he separated them into another room filled with Corrupted. He rather they be consumed by the Corrupted than let Roland torture them. The butler fights Roland to protect the estate and his master’s research but ends up being infected by Roland.
