Please refer to the Main page before reading, as it contains notes and info that may be important to know before viewing team compositions.
Team compositions shown are subject to change frequently as new Constructs are released and strategies are optimized.

Physical Teams

Competitive (High Investment)

This composition serves to show the investment required to compete at higher levels. Investment recommendations will not be available to the majority of players. Players should use Competitive (Budget) as a guide for a more accessible team.
Blue

Echo

Starter. Recommended investment: SSS-Rank, Signature Weapon
As Stigmata and Echo can both rearrange their orbs, Echo's optimal spot is in the Blue slot of the team. Echo should avoid Yellow as it is best used by Rigor.
Echo acts as the starter of this team to set up the Amplifier Class passive while quickly closing the gap with a Yellow 3-Ping, simultaneously setting up Rigor’s QTE to benefit Stigmata. Echo should swap to Stigmata as soon as she has closed the gap. Superna Awakening Echo is necessary for this rotation opener. Without Superna Awakening, players should instead swap to Stigmata immediately.
Echo's SSS-Rank can potentially be obtained for free through the Tactical Assessment Manual (Battle Pass). As it is likely that many other players within higher tiers of competitive play will have obtained this, it may be an important consideration to make. Echo's Signature Weapon significantly improves this team, as it allows her to use Weapon Resonances and Weapon Harmonization.
Red
Leader

Stigmata

Leader. Recommended investment: SS3-Rank, Signature Weapon
As other slots are better used by other members, Stigmata takes the remaining position in the team.
Stigmata's SS3-Rank-serves as a potentially very high increase to her DPS potential, as pairing it with 2 set Cottie can allow Stigmata to perform multiple Signature Moves in quick succession before needing to switch out. Her Signature Weapon is strongly recommended for consistently high amounts of Stigmata Will stacks to improve her Signature Move's damage. Weapon Resonances also play a strong factor in this team, as Deadline Timing rises in priority to ensure Stigmata has enough orbs to consistently pull off multiple Signature Moves each rotation.
Yellow

Rigor

Recommended investment: Leap, SSS-Rank, Signature Weapon
Optimal rotation for this composition makes use of Superna Awakening to allow Echo to begin combat with a guaranteed Yellow 3-Ping which she should use to start. As such, Rigor should be set on Yellow to allow for uninterrupted rotations while allowing Echo to trigger her QTE to further assist Stigmata. Superna Awakening Echo is necessary for this rotation opener. Without Superna Awakening, players should instead swap to Stigmata immediately.
Rigor's Leap should be considered a minimum investment for this team as it increases her DPS by a significant amount. Rigor should be at least SS-Rank in this composition, as the ability to reapply her Defense reduction debuff from off-field can greatly improve the team's potential output. SSS-Rank is not necessary, but can be potentially obtained for free through the Tactical Assessment Manual (Battle Pass). If accessible, it is highly recommended for the increase to her Defense reduction debuffs. Signature Weapon serves as another increase to Rigor's maximum Defense reduction and allows for Weapon Resonances.

Competitive (Budget)

This composition requires good orb management to play optimally. Players should take advantage of Stigmata's ability to forcibly enter matrix to prioritize Pinging the necessary orbs to activate both Echo and Rigor's QTEs.
This composition acts as a more budget friendly version of the Competitive team composition, offering guidelines for where to begin further investment while remaining generally accessible to F2P/players on a budget. Investment recommendations should be taken solely as such. Recommendations are not requirements for this composition to function, though they may greatly improve it.
Blue

Echo

Starter. Recommended investment: SS-Rank
As Stigmata and Echo can both rearrange their orbs, Echo's optimal spot is in the Blue slot of the team. Echo should avoid Red as it is best used by Rigor.
Echo acts as the starter of this team to set up the Amplifier Class passive. Echo should swap to Stigmata as soon as possible. If Echo is S5-Rank or higher, refer to Competitive (High Investment) for optimal placements.
As Echo's SS-Rank is potentially free though Phantom Pain Cage, it is recommended for this composition and can significantly improve Echo through quality of life changes and damage increases. It should not take priority over Stigmata's SS-Rank.
Red

Rigor

Recommended investment: Leap
Rigor's placement on Red allows for optimal synergy with her teammates in this composition, allowing Echo to consistently trigger her QTE while making it easier for Stigmata to do the same.
Rigor's Leap should be considered a minimum investment for this team as it increases her DPS by a significant amount.
Yellow
Leader

Stigmata

Leader. Recommended investment: SS-Rank
As other slots are better used by other members, Stigmata takes the remaining position in the team.
Stigmata's SS-Rank should be the top priority in this team as it can greatly improve her Signature Move's potential damage.

1st Gen (Crimson Abyss)

This team composition acts solely to show examples of older Constructs that may be used to fill in empty slots of players' teams. This team is obsolete and will likely never be used in competitive content. This does not mean Constructs shown here that do not appear in stronger teams are useless, only that they are not the most effective option available.
Blue

Luminance

Starter.
Luminance should avoid being set anywhere but Blue as both Crimson Abyss and Rigor rely heavily on their Blue Pings. Crimson Abyss requires a Blue 3-Ping to activate her Core Passive, while Rigor benefits greatly from using her Blue Pings to reduce enemy Defense to increase her personal damage output.
Luminance acts as the starter of this team to set up for future rotations with the Level 18 effects of her Signature Move’s Leap. Luminance should swap to Crimson Abyss as soon as possible.
Luminance's Leap is required for her to be an effective Physical Support. If players plan on obtaining a Signature Weapon for Luminance, they should obtain Type Zero instead of Dragon Wind, as Dragon Wind is sub-optimal despite being her Signature Weapon.
Red

Rigor

Before gaining her Leap, Crimson Abyss' Red Ping was a stronger option for activating her Core Passive due to her SS-Rank passive. With the introduction of her Leap, Crimson Abyss' Yellow and Red Pings are equal in strength, meaning no changes need to be made to team placements.
Rigor's Leap should be considered a minimum investment for this team as it increases her DPS by a significant amount.
Yellow
Leader

Crimson Abyss

Leader.
Before gaining her Leap, Crimson Abyss' Red Ping was a stronger option for activating her Core Passive due to her SS-Rank passive. As such, Yellow Pings were only used if necessary, making Yellow the optimal team slot for Crimson Abyss.
Crimson Abyss' Leap significantly improves both her functionality and damage, and is highly recommended if players wish to use her as their Physical Attacker.

1st Gen (Entropy)

This team composition acts solely to show examples of older Constructs that may be used to fill in empty slots of players' teams. This team is obsolete and will likely never be used in competitive content. This does not mean Constructs shown here that do not appear in stronger teams are useless, only that they are not the most effective option available.
Blue

Luminance

Starter.
Luminance is best placed in Blue due to the frequent usage of Blue Pings by Entropy and Rigor.
Luminance acts as the starter of this team to set up for future rotations with the Level 18 effects of her Signature Move’s Leap. Luminance should swap to Entropy as soon as possible.
Luminance's Leap is required for her to be an effective Physical Support. If players plan on obtaining a Signature Weapon for Luminance, they should obtain Type Zero instead of Dragon Wind, as Dragon Wind is sub-optimal despite being her Signature Weapon.
Red
Leader

Entropy

Leader.
Entropy should avoid any team slot other than Red as he requires Yellow and Blue 3-Pings to activate his Core Passive. Red 3-Pings are rarely used as Entropy's Red Ping is more useful for activation of his Core Passive rather than the potential damage from a 3-Ping.
Yellow

Rigor

Rigor's optimal placement in this composition is Yellow as her Leap gives her QTE the ability to gather enemies. As Entropy's Blue Ping shares the same effects, Rigor is best set in Yellow to avoid redundancy and make best use of her QTE's effects while providing optimal support.
Rigor's Leap should be considered a minimum investment for this team as it increases her DPS by a significant amount.

Beginner Friendly/F2P Options

This composition exists solely for new players who need a coverage team/general idea on where to start their team. Recommendations on investment will only be given if a Construct can fill a specific niche. Players with more experience/access to more Constructs should use this composition as nothing more than a guideline on how to fill empty slots they may have in their teams.
Blue

Zitherwoe

Zitherwoe is not recommended as a Physical Support, as enough shards to obtain Alisa: Echo can be obtained for free. However, the process to do so can be very time-consuming. As such, Zitherwoe may serve as a temporary replacement, at the cost of significantly lower performance in general content.
Zitherwoe may prove much more useful to players as a Support for Qu: Pavo and Pulao: Dragontoll, though she is required to be at SSS-Rank to be effective in this niche.
Red

Blast

Leader.
Blast may serve as a temporary Attacker until a stronger option is available to players. She should be used solely as a last resort, and should be replaced with a stronger option as soon as possible. Bianca: Zero is potentially stronger than Blast, but is not listed as her use cases are more limited due to her lack of AoE.
Yellow

Storm

Starter.
It is not recommended to invest in Storm, as Across the Ruined Sea introduces beginner missions that reward players with a S-Rank selector containing all S-Rank Constructs up to Luna: Laurel. Players are strongly recommended to pick Rosetta: Rigor from the selector as there are no budget options for this role that come close to competing with Rigor's debuffs.

Fire Teams

Competitive (High Investment)

This composition requires good orb management to play optimally in order to maximize Starfarer's Missile Support effect from her SS-Rank passive.
This composition serves to show the investment required to compete at higher levels. Investment recommendations will not be available to the majority of players. Players should use Competitive (Budget) as a guide for a more accessible team.
Blue

Empyrea

Recommended investment: SS-Rank, Signature Weapon
Empyrea fills in Blue to allow for uninterrupted rotations as Hyperreal rarely uses Blue 3-Pings, meaning no time is lost waiting for Empyrea's QTE animation to finish before swapping the controlled party member. This placement also allows for semi-consistent buff application before Starfarer's Signature Move, increasing its potential damage.
SS-Rank should be considered the minimum investment for Empyrea as it significantly improves her gameplay, potential damage, and buffs. Her Signature Weapon, while unnecessary at the base level, will greatly improve her gameplay and allows use of Weapon Resonances, which can make a great difference in both her and the team's performance.
Red

Starfarer

Starter. Recommended investment: SS-Rank, Signature Weapon
Starfarer's optimal team spot is on Red due to frequent use of Red 3-Pings by her teammates, mainly Hyperreal during Phantom Pain Cage runs.
Starfarer acts as the starter of this team to use Blue Pings to immediately set up Fire Resistance reduction for Hyperreal while setting up the Amplifier Class passive. Starfarer should swap to Hyperreal as soon as her Blue Ping's missiles are in the air.
Starfarer should be using her Pain Cage build [1] in this compostion, regardless of gamemode. This team relies on Starfarer having both her SS-Rank and Signature Weapon as she cannot use 4 set Da Vinci without drawbacks otherwise. This can be mitigated by using Weapon Harmonization to allow Starfarer to use both Unimate and Da Vinci's 4 set effect simultaneously. However, this is heavily discouraged as Fire is currently one of the weaker overall teams in CN, and the value from this investment is not worth the cost.
Yellow
Leader

Hyperreal

Leader. Recommended investment: SS3-Rank, Signature Weapon
Hyperreal should avoid being placed in Blue due to Starfarer's frequent usage of Blue Pings. Activation of Hyperreal's QTE through use of Blue 3-Pings can cause a significant loss of time. As Hyperreal's Yellow 3-Ping is generally weaker than his Red 3-Ping due to a long animation with drawn out damage, he should be set in Yellow.
Hyperreal's Signature Weapon is highly recommended as it significantly improves his gameplay and potential damage. SS3-Rank serves as a very strong overall boost to Hyperreal, allowing him to switch his memory build from 2 set Cottie to 2 set Darwin without drawbacks and potentially cutting down on overall rotation time.

Competitive (Budget)

This composition acts as a more budget friendly version of the Competitive team composition, offering guidelines for where to begin further investment while remaining generally accessible to F2P/players on a budget. Investment recommendations should be taken solely as such. Recommendations are not requirements for this composition to function, though they may greatly improve it.
Blue

Hyperreal

Leader. Recommended Investment: Signature Weapon
As Hyperreal rarely uses Blue 3-Pings, his optimal slot in this composition is on Blue. If Starfarer has her Signature Weapon and/or Hyperreal is S5-Rank or higher, refer to Competitive (High Investment) for optimal placements.
Hyperreal's Signature Weapon greatly improves his gameplay and damage potential, making it a strong recommendation for players who can afford it.
Red

Starfarer

Starter. Recommended Investment: Signature Weapon
Starfarer is best used in the Red slot as Hyperreal will use Red 3-Pings more often than his Yellow, mainly in Phantom Pain Cage.
Starfarer acts as the starter of this team to set up the Amplifier Class passive. If Starfarer is using her Signature Weapon, she can also use a Blue Ping to set up Fire Resistance reduction for Hyperreal. Starfarer should swap to Hyperreal immediately, or after using her Blue Ping if using her Signature Weapon.
Starfarer's Signature Weapon should take priority over all other forms of investment as it greatly improves her gameplay and her SS-Rank passive. If only one Signature Weapon can be afforded, Hyperreal's Weapon should take priority over Starfarer's.
Yellow
Leader

Empyrea

Recommended Investment: SS-Rank
Empyrea should be set in the Yellow slot of this team as Hyperreal and Starfarer use Yellow 3-Pings frequently enough to consistently trigger Empyrea's QTE. However, her QTE is a lower priority than Starfarer's, giving Starfarer more priority to be set in the Red team slot. Empyrea's SS-Rank is strongly recommended, as it significantly improves her gameplay and increases her buffing potential. Signature Weapon should only be considered after obtaining her SS-Rank passive unless players plan on giving Empyrea Weapon Resonances.

1st Gen

This team composition acts solely to show examples of older Constructs that may be used to fill in empty slots of players' teams. This team is obsolete and will likely never be used in competitive content. This does not mean Constructs shown here that do not appear in stronger teams are useless, only that they are not the most effective option available.
Blue

Pulse

Pulse should take the Blue slot in the team to allow Ember to semi-consistently trigger her QTE while offering the best synergy with Silverfang. If Pulse is used as a substitute Fire Tank while in a team with Liv: Empyrea, she should use her Main Build [2]. In this composition, Pulse uses her Pain Cage build [3] to effectively sub-DPS for Ember.
Red
Leader

Ember

Leader.
Despite Red being one of Ember's stronger options, controlling timings for QTEs becomes inconsistent due to her Red Ping's fast animation. This can lead to a portion of the Ping being unbuffed, leading to suboptimal damage output.
Yellow

Silverfang

Starter.
Silverfang takes Yellow as it provides consistent QTE and Da Vinci triggers as Yellow Pings are Ember's highest source of DPS, and will be used frequently. Ember's Yellow Ping animation is delayed enough that players can trigger Silverfang's QTE and activate Da Vinci in time for the Yellow Ping to damage enemies while being buffed, leading to Yellow being the most consistent slot when it comes to allowing Silverfang to support her team.
Silverfang acts as the starter of this team to allow Ember to use her switch-in skill. Silverfang should swap to Ember immediately.

Blue
Leader

Palefire

Leader.
Palefire may serve as a temporary Attacker until a stronger option is available to players. At SSS-Rank with his Leap, Palefire can outclass Karenina: Ember as a Fire Attacker. However, this is not a recommendation for the majority of players as Lee: Hyperreal heavily outclasses both and is much more cost efficient.
Palefire should avoid any other slot than Blue as his Core Passive requires Red and Yellow Pings for activation. Palefire's Blue Pings are only used when necessary, or in very specific, niche situations.
Red

Silverfang

Starter.
Silverfang is a relatively weak Fire Support that does not see usage in competitive content. Replacing her with Liv: Empyrea is highly recommended to do as soon as possible.
Yellow

Brilliance

Brilliance may serve as a budget Elemental Tank for players without access to stronger Constructs. In this composition, she must be using 4 set Shakespeare and 2 set Gloria. Otherwise, she cannot fill a role within this team.

Ice Teams

Competitive (High Investment)

This composition serves to show the investment required to compete at higher levels. Investment recommendations will not be available to the majority of players. Players should use Competitive (Budget) as a guide for a more accessible team.
Blue

Plume

Recommended investment: SS-Rank, Signature Weapon
Plume should be set in the Blue slot due to a general lack of reliance on her Blue pings, as her Red and Yellow 3-Pings are simply stronger options while in Arctic Form. Plume's Signature Weapon's value lies primarily in opening up use of Weapon Resonances as they can significantly improve Plume's gameplay and damage. While not a significant increase, Plume's SS-Rank should be considered the competitive "minimum".
Red

Glory

Starter. Recommended investment: SS-Rank, Signature Weapon
Glory is best set in Red for consistent QTE triggers from Plume's frequent use of Red 3-Pings.
Glory acts as the starter of this team to set up the Amplifier Class passive and Ice Resistance reduction with his Core Passive. Glory can also gap-close by dodging then basic attacking, providing better positioning. Glory should swap to Kaleido as soon as he has closed the gap and activated his Core Passive.
Glory should be using his Pain Cage build [4] in this composition, regardless of gamemode. Glory's Signature Weapon is highly recommended as he cannot apply his innate Ice Resistance reduction debuffs from off-field without it. Rank ups are overall unnecessary, as Glory sees a minimal amount of field time. SS-Rank serves as a considerable increase to Glory's DPS. SSS-Rank may be a consideration for spenders due to the increase to his Ice Resistance reduction debuff, but is unnecessary.
Yellow
Leader

Kaleido

Leader. Recommended investment: SSS-Rank, Signature CUB, Signature Weapon
Kaleido takes the remaining slot in the team as her QTE can be triggered consistently through Plume and Glory's semi-consistent usage of Yellow Pings or Glory's use of 4 set Da Vinci.
Kaleido's SSS-Rank can potentially be obtained for free through the Tactical Assessment Manual (Battle Pass). As it is likely that many other players within higher tiers of competitive play will have obtained this, it may be an important consideration to make. Kaleido's Signature CUB should take priority over her Signature Weapon unless Weapon Resonances are planned, as her CUB can provide a greater boost to Kaleido's damage. Signature Weapon is recommended for access to Weapon Resonances as they can drastically improve Kaleido's gameplay, damage, and buffs.

Blue

Plume

Recommended investment: Signature Weapon
Plume should be set in the Blue slot due to a general lack of reliance on her Blue pings, as her Red and Yellow 3-Pings are simply stronger options while in Arctic Form.
Plume's Signature Weapon is unnecessary, but a higher priority than her SS-Rank if players wish to improve her without spending a significant amount.
Red

Glory

Starter. Recommended investment: Signature Weapon
Glory should be using his Pain Cage build [5] in this composition, regardless of gamemode. Despite his lack of field time, Glory's Signature Weapon should take the highest priority if players wish to spend extra in order to improve their team, as it allows Glory to apply his innate Ice Resistance Reduction debuff from off-field.
Yellow
Leader

Kaleido

Leader. Recommended investment: SS-Rank, Signature CUB
Kaleido takes the remaining slot in the team as her QTE can be triggered consistently through Plume and Glory's semi-consistent usage of Yellow Pings or Glory's use of 4 set Da Vinci.
As Kaleido's SS-Rank is potentially free though Phantom Pain Cage, it is recommended for this composition, and should be the highest priority when deciding on Rank-ups for this team composition's members. If players wish to improve Kaleido further, her Signature CUB should be the next priority to obtain as it can provide a greater boost than her Signature Weapon without Resonances.

Beginner Friendly/F2P Options

This composition exists solely for new players who need a coverage team/general idea on where to start their team. Recommendations on investment will only be given if a Construct can fill a specific niche. Players with more experience/access to more Constructs should use this composition as nothing more than a guideline on how to fill empty slots the may have in their teams.
Blue

Qilin

Qilin may serve as a temporary Tank for players’ Ice team. However, investment is highly discouraged as Qilin is a very sub-par unit overall who may be outperformed by Ayla: Brilliance’s Ice QTE Support [6] build. Qilin does not provide significant benefit without a higher Rank and Signature Weapon, neither of which are cost-efficient investments.
Red

Hypnos

Starter.
Hypnos, while a reliable Support, is entirely outclassed by Ayla: Kaleido who can be obtained for free. As such, it is only recommended to invest into Hypnos if necessary or for usage outside of competitive content.
Yellow
Leader

Vitrum

Leader.
Vitrum may serve as a budget alternative to Lucia: Plume. While Plume is significantly stronger than Vitrum, she may serve as a decent alternative for players without Plume.

Lightning Teams

Competitive (High Investment)

This composition serves to show the investment required to compete at higher levels. Investment recommendations will not be available to the majority of players. Players should use Competitive (Budget) as a guide for a more accessible team.
Blue
Leader

Crimson Weave

Leader. Recommended investment: SS-Rank, Signature Weapon
With optimal play, Crimson Weave will only ever use Blue Pings once to provide enough Energy to perform her Signature Move during her initial rotation. As such, she should be in the Blue slot of the team in order for optimal QTE usage. Crimson Weave should swap places with Feral Scent when used in Phantom Pain Cage. Garnet may trigger Crimson Weave's QTE when using Blue 3-Pings, potentially losing valuable time.
Crimson Weave's SS-Rank passive and Signature Weapon are both very significant increases to her personal damage. Weapon Resonances can also serve to greatly improve her overall gameplay and damage output. For players competing at the highest levels, SS3-Rank can be a fairly considerable upgrade to make as it allows for greater optimization of her gameplay. However, this should only be a consideration at the highest levels of play. Outside of high level competitive content, SS3-Rank will not be worth the potential cost.
Red

Feral Scent

Recommended investment: SS-Rank, Signature Weapon
Frequent use of Red and Yellow Pings allow for consistent triggers of Feral Scent's QTE. Lightning is currently an incomplete team that sees Feral Scent's field time requirements to be much higher than average. Her Signature Weapon is highly recommended for this reason as it grants Feral Scent a 3-Ping on switch-in as well as giving access to the Deadline Timing Weapon Resonance, which can increase her effective field time by a considerable amount. If Crimson Weave is SS-rank, Feral Scent will also require SS-rank to be effective in a rotation based team. Without it, it is recommended to instead follow the guidelines given for Competitive (Budget). It should be noted that the aforementioned investment recommendations are highly subject to change, and may only be necessary while the Lightning team remains in its incomplete state.
Yellow

Garnet

Starter. Recommended investment: SS-Rank, Signature Weapon
Frequent use of Red and Yellow Pings allow for consistent triggers of Garnet's QTE.
Garnet acts as the starter of this team to close the gap through use of Blue Pings and to set up the Amplifier Class passive immediately. Garnet should swap to Feral Scent as soon as she has closed the gap. In Phantom Pain Cage, Garnet should swap to Crimson Weave instead.
Garnet's SS-Rank and Signature Weapon may hold value to players as Garnet will see short amounts of field time in very specific situations, but is overall unnecessary. SSS-Rank may be a consideration for spenders to maximize Garnet's innate Lightning Resistance reduction debuffs, but is also unnecessary for this team.

Competitive (Budget)

This composition acts as an in-between for players who want an effective Lightning team/want to prepare for the future completion of the Lightning team without investing heavily into No.21: Feral. Budget substitutes for Feral Scent and Garnet are listed within the descriptions of the respective Construct. After switching in from Garnet, Crimson Weave will be the only Construct to take field time, as switching is suboptimal for this composition. It is highly recommended to obtain No.21: Feral Scent despite her lack of field time. Feral Scent provides an increase to score over her budget counterpart and has the potential to become exponentially stronger with the debut of a new Lightning Tank. This is not guaranteed and highly subject to change.
Blue
Leader

Crimson Weave

Leader. Recommended investment: SS-Rank
Crimson Weave's SS-Rank passive serves as a potentially very significant increase to her personal damage output.
Red

Feral Scent

Recommended investment: Signature Weapon
Frequent use of Red and Yellow Pings allow for consistent triggers of Feral Scent's QTE. Feral Scent should be using her QTE Support build [7] in this composition as she does not take field time. Feral Scent's Signature Weapon is unnecessary, but recommended for the increase to her buffing potential and to potential DPS if ever used on-field. Can be swapped out for SS-Rank Liv: Lux, at the cost of lower performance.
Yellow

Garnet

Starter. Recommended investment: SS-Rank
Frequent use of Red and Yellow Pings allow for consistent triggers of Garnet's QTE.
Garnet acts as the starter of this team to close the gap through use of Blue Pings and to set up the Amplifier Class passive immediately. Garnet should swap to Crimson Weave as soon as she has closed the gap.
Garnet's SS-Rank should be the maximum investment given while using this composition, as she will not be used on-field and fills a purely supportive role in this team. Garnet's SS-Rank passive allows her to set Victorious War Flag whenever swapping, setting up her debuffs for Crimson Weave's initial rotation. Can be swapped out for Chrome: Arclight, at the cost of lower performance.

1st Gen

This team composition acts solely to show examples of older Constructs that may be used to fill in empty slots of players' teams. This team is obsolete and will likely never be used in competitive content. This does not mean Constructs shown here that do not appear in stronger teams are useless, only that they are not the most effective option available.
Blue

Veritas

Leader.
Before the introduction of her Leap, Veritas rarely used Blue 3-Pings, instead Pinging them as soon as she performed a Red 3-Ping to activate her Core Passive. As her Leap only serves to improve her functionality rather than change it, her optimal position remains on Blue.
Veritas' Leap is highly recommended as it solves significant issues in her kit and greatly improves her damage. Without it, her DPS is relatively low, to the point that Veritas will act as a sub-DPS to Garnet. If Veritas does not have her Leap, Garnet should be set as the Leader of this team.
Red

Lux

Starter.
Lux set on Red to allow Veritas to consistently trigger Da Vinci's 4 set effects.
Lux acts as the starter of the team to allow Veritas to trigger a portion of her Core Passive without needing to spend any orbs. Lux should use a Yellow 3-Ping if available to set up Garnet's QTE then swap to Veritas. If a Yellow 3-Ping is unavailable, Lux should swap to Veritas immediately.
Yellow

Garnet

As other slots are better used by other teammates, Garnet should be set in Yellow. Garnet's QTE will primarily be triggered by Lux's 4 set Da Vinci, though players with SSS+ Rank Lux may be able to trigger Garnet's QTE semi-consistently with Lux's Yellow 3-Ping.

Blue

Lux

Starter.
Lux is a very reliable Support who may still see usage in a majority of content as Lucia: Crimson Weave can act as the sole on-field Construct, improving Supports like Lux who should generally avoid taking field time. While she is outclassed by No.21: Feral, she may serve as an effective substitute.
Red
Leader

Indomitus

Leader.
Indomitus may serve as a temporary Attacker until a stronger option is available to players. If players must rely on budget options, Indomitus should be the first choice as his investment requirement to be effective in his role is much lower than Lucia: Dawn. While Dawn and Indomitus can equal each other as Lightning Attackers, Dawn will require her Leap, drastically increasing the cost of investment.
Yellow

Arclight

Similarly to Lux, Arclight may still be an effective Lightning Tank for many players as Vera: Garnet sees minimal field time in competitive content. Garnet offers a significant improvement over Arclight, but may not be worth the cost to many players as Black Cards are better used in obtaining new releases.

Dark Teams

Competitive (High Investment)

This composition serves to show the investment required to compete at higher levels. Investment recommendations will not be available to the majority of players. Players should use Competitive (Budget) as a guide for a more accessible team.
Blue

Capriccio

Starter. Recommended investment: SSS-Rank, Signature Weapon
Capriccio should ideally be in the Blue slot to allow Lost Lullaby and Scire to trigger her QTE while leaving the Red slot open for Scire, who benefits the team much more in the Red team slot.
Capriccio acts as the starter to activate the Amplifier Class Passive. Capriccio should swap to Scire immediately. Capriccio's SSS-Rank can potentially be obtained for free through the Tactical Assessment Manual (Battle Pass). As it is likely that many other players within higher tiers of competitive play will have obtained this, it may be an important consideration to make. Capriccio's Signature Weapon should be considered a necessity for this team as Capriccio's DPS is almost entirely reliant on her Signature Move being completed before the Amplifier Class passive runs out. Without her Signature Weapon, Capriccio cannot reliably gain Energy fast enough to perform her Signature Move every rotation.
Red

Scire

Recommended investment: SS3-Rank, Signature Weapon
Red serves as the optimal slot for consistent usage of Scire's QTE for both Capriccio and Lost Lullaby, who both use Red 3-Pings frequently. SS3-Rank is no longer necessary for Scire to be effective on-field, but should be considered a minimum as it remains a very significant increase to Scire's DPS. As it is likely that many other players within higher tiers of competitive play will have obtained this, it may be an important consideration to make. Scire's Signature Weapon should be considered a necessity for this team as it greatly increases Scire's overall value and improves her synergy with Lost Lullaby. It also brings the benefit of allowing Scire to use the Deadline Timing Weapon Resonance, which is necessary to consistently activate Scire's SS3-Rank passive without constant use of Matrix, which can be difficult to pull off without the potential loss of time in many gamemodes.
Yellow
Leader

Lost Lullaby

Leader. Recommended investment: SS-Rank, Signature Weapon
As other slots are better used for other team members, Lost Lullaby takes the remaining position in the team.
Lost Lullaby's SS3-Rank passive and Signature Weapon are both very significant increases to her personal damage and greatly improve her gameplay. SS3-Rank is notable as it changes Lost Lullaby’s optimal playstyle to involve using multiple Signature Moves per rotation.

Blue

Capriccio

Starter. Recommended investment: Signature Weapon
Capriccio should ideally be in the Blue slot to allow Lost Lullaby and Scire to trigger her QTE while leaving the Red slot open for Scire, who benefits the team much more in the Red team slot.
Capriccio acts as the starter to activate the Amplifier Class Passive. Capriccio should swap to Lost Lullaby immediately. Capriccio's Signature Weapon is a very high priority in this team, regardless of investment, as it is required for Capriccio to consistently use her Signature Move. The majority of Capriccio's DPS is reliant on completing her Signature Move before the Amplifier Class passive runs out, which cannot be done consistently without her Signature Weapon.
Red

Scire

Recommended investment: Signature Weapon
Red serves as the optimal slot for consistent usage of Scire's QTE for both Capriccio and Lost Lullaby, who both use Red 3-Pings frequently. When considering higher investment for Scire, her Signature Weapon should take priority above all else as it greatly improves her supportive capabilities, DPS, and synergy with Lost Lullaby.
Yellow
Leader

Lost Lullaby

Leader. Recommended investment: Signature Weapon
As other slots are better used for other members, Lost Lullaby takes the remaining position in the team. Lost Lullaby's Signature Weapon greatly improves her damage by increasing the rate at which she accumulates Abussos Points, and improves gameplay through automatically triggering Matrix when available whenever Lost Lullaby triggers a Tidal Orb.

1st Gen

This team composition acts solely to show examples of older Constructs that may be used to fill in empty slots of players' teams. This team is obsolete and will likely never be used in competitive content. This does not mean Constructs shown here that do not appear in stronger teams are useless, only that they are not the most effective option available.
Blue

Rozen

Starter.
Laurel's ability to activate any QTEs outside of their cooldown allows for consistent use of all QTEs. Tenebrion's QTE should be activated before Rozen's, as Rozen can use Da Vinci's 4 set effect to reactivate it in order to refresh Tenebrion's Dark Resistance reduction debuff and activate Da Vinci's maximum ATK buffs.
Rozen acts as the starter to allow Laurel to use her switch-in skill to fulfill a portion of her Core Passive. Rozen should swap to Laurel immediately. If Tenebrion is SS-Rank, Rozen should swap to him instead of Laurel to begin accumulating energy for his Signature Move. When Laurel is the team's Attacker, SSS-Rank Rozen will outclass Selena: Capriccio as the optimal Construct for buffs, unless Capriccio is also SSS-Rank or SS-Rank with Weapon Resonances. This only applies for Laurel and does not apply when using any other Dark Attacker. All other options hold much greater synergy with Capriccio.
Red
Leader

Laurel

Leader.
As Laurel can activate all available QTEs with her Core Passive and does not provide any support with her own QTE, she takes the remaining position in the team.
Yellow

Tenebrion

Laurel's ability to activate any QTEs outside of their cooldown allows for consistent use of all QTEs. Tenebrion’s QTE should always be activated before Rozen’s to maximize his Dark Resistance reduction debuff’s uptime.

Blue

Rozen

Starter.
Rozen is a strong Support Construct that may see usage if players rely on Luna: Laurel as their Dark Attacker. This only applies for Laurel and does not apply when using any other Dark Attacker. All other options hold much greater synergy with Selena: Capriccio.
Red
Leader

Astral

Leader.
Astral may serve as a temporary Attacker until a stronger option is available to players. However, he is significantly weaker than all other available options, and as such is advised to be replaced as soon as possible. Astral's Leap may allow him to be equal to S-Rank Luna: Laurel but only if Astral is SSS+ Rank at minimum. If Laurel is any higher than S-Rank, she will outclass Astral.
Yellow

XXI

At SSS-Rank, XXI may be able to match Kamui: Tenebrion in specific situations where the enemy gathering effect from her QTE may be more important than the higher Dark Resistance reduction provided by Tenebrion. In situations where XXI's gather effects are not as relevant, Tenebrion is a direct upgrade. XXI is a much more niche character overall who excels in survival focused gamemodes, rather than DPS focused.
